Meeting with President Mori of the Japan-Portugal Society of Nagasaki

During the visit to Nagasaki, one of the highlights was the meeting with Mr. Takujiro Mori, President of the Japan-Portugal Society of Nagasaki. This meeting, marked by cordiality and a shared desire to deepen cultural relations between the two countries, opened doors for new artistic and cultural collaborations.

The meeting discussed potential initiatives that can strengthen connections between Portugal and Japan, particularly in the areas of art and culture. Chairman Mori and other members of the Japan-Portugal Society expressed great enthusiasm for initiatives that promote this exchange, highlighting the value of these collaborations in bringing the two nations closer together.

Ana Aragão and her team emphasized the importance of this ongoing dialogue, celebrating the opportunity to explore new joint projects that can further strengthen the ties between Nagasaki and Porto. The Society also reiterated its commitment to supporting future exhibitions and events that celebrate the shared cultural heritage of Portugal and Japan.

This meeting was a significant step in developing deeper cooperation between the two cultures, marking the beginning of a series of promising collaborations in the future.

President Mori proved to be a gracious and kind host, even taking us on a tour to view the Historical Collection at the Juhachi-Shinwa Bank, where we had the opportunity to see up close an original namban folding screen.
